Creston Church celebrates that every person is loved by God and bears God’s image.
We lament that too often the body of Christ has rejected LGBTQ+ individuals and the greater queer community. We repent for the ways our own congregation has participated in that rejection – through thoughts, words, actions, and inactions – and we grieve those who we have driven away from the church.
Creston Church welcomes and affirms all people – including LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families – and aspires to offer full care, love, and support to all. We encourage the full participation of LGBTQ+ individuals in the life of the church: serving as volunteers, receiving the sacraments, holding staff and leadership roles, and being ordained to all offices of the church as the Holy Spirit calls and leads.
While Creston Church is a community with diverse views, we commit to building relationships across our differences, leaning into tension and difficult conversations. We celebrate the diversity that God has given us and strive to be a place of hospitality, encouragement, grace, and hope – where we can engage in loving God, loving neighbor, and loving the world.
